Before Matthew Weston was injured in Afghanistan he was a very talented artist.  Yes, soldiers can be artists too!  We lucky ones can’t know the battles, phycological and otherwise, it takes to overcome losing your right hand, let alone your right hand and both legs.  Sometimes Matt’s strength leaves me breathless.  His strength of will, his strength of character, his stock answer if ever asked about how he overcame such a blow. ‘I just cracked on.’  Without a right hand Matt used his left and has gone on to take some simply stunning photographs.  It’s a privilege to showcase them in our book ‘The Strongest Among Us’ along with the stories of their subjects, a set of people who, like Matt, overcame their own challenges and ‘just cracked on.’
